warped
so at warped yesterday max bemis came out into the crowd. in stl by the way. i was pretty stoked, to say the least so i groped his junk. he looked at me, smiled his smile and shared his mic with me for a bit. so we sang belt together and it was nuTs. i was soo happy. best show of the day.
Okay
So, say anything is the GREATEST band alive, and I love them so much, its so ridiculous, literally, and on their newest cd, I happen to love every single song on that cd, its just amazing. and i am in love with max bemis, its insane.
Still Great.
IARB is a great album, but so is IDOTG. I think some of you guys are being a bit harsh considering. I mean, it would be difficult to produce an album better than IARB, so instead we got IDOTG which MATCHED the quality.
Died A Jew, Sorry Dudes My Bad & Baby Girl I'm A Blur were the highlights for me.
Overall, pretty great album =]

Say Anything: the best band ever.
You guys rock, no matter what.
All your songs are fucking amazing, there isn't one I don't like. And that rarely happens. My all time favorite band.
The music is so raw and honest. It's refreshing.
And the metaphors are effing awesome.
Keep it up guys!

so what?....
....if this amazing band sounds a bit different
they are still the same musicians and singers and people
and if you think their last albums were better keep it to yourself
if they're concerned with your opinions they'll ask you personally
and if you must voice your opinion make it constructable critisism
not just pure hatred
I Dream I Dream I Dream
We killed it! haha my favorite. let the anger pour forth through this song. a minute and 53 seconds of pure unadulterated power induced music. SAY ANYTHING!

Spores
Spores is my favorite song from In Defense of The Genre. Amazing lyrics to go along with Max's amazing voice. You can tell it goes deep and it goes deep for me too. The album is great and I do love every song but Spores affects me personally the most <3

That Is Why
I absolutely love the humor of this song.
The first line cracks me up every time.
I adore the almost musical type uppy sound to it, and it's contrast with the harsh lyrics.
I was listening to the In Defense of the Genre CD in the car with my mom, and she thought I was listening to the soundtrack to a musical or a show on broadway or soemthing.
I told her to listen closer to the lyrics.
This song, and whole CD, is absolutely amazing.
I've been a devoted fan since Baseball, keep up the good work guys!!!
died a jew
died a jew is likee honestly one of the BEST songs i have heard in a long time. coming from a semi-jewish family i feel that the song really speaks the truth of what the jews went through
<3
Beautiful...i can't get these songs out of my head. && i like how both albums had a different sound...itss like never fun when 2 albums from one band sound the same. i can't wait for a new album to be released!
This is f***ing Awesome
I still love Is a Real Boy a lot more due to the blatant punk rock and in your face, rebellious songs that it was jam packed with. Their new album incorporates a load of songs based on sex and pop styles mixed in. its an pretty sick album, but It could have been a lot better if they had stayed rebellious and not done all this shit to get fans and more publicity. However, I believe that the band still hangs on to the punk rock style they had
whoa the only band i ever listen to
i love say anything idk wat people are thinking saying the band sucks this and that well they probably havent listened to the whple cd which rocks... but hey every one has there opinions
awsome
this is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

turkey sandwich!?!?!
Interesting
I was honestly blown away by this album, there hasn't been a good one like it for a while. It's also unique how you guys had two discs instead of one. Big plus in my book.
Also, just the fact that you had many guests from other band's that I love t(Gerard, Hayley, etc)intrigued me. Max's voice was amazing too. So yup.
Oh ya, and people should stop hating you guys for no apparent reason.
dont hate
i hate how all these assholes put shit on the the band saying " there all poppy and shit" its so gay. you cant have a band that does the came shit every single cd... its gets old. thats probably a reason most of these bands we like break up. there expected to do something and when they dont everyone gets pissed off and its fuckin ridiculous. look a blink-182. they start to get serious and everyone flips a shit. get over it... i love the new record. its genius!!!
effing awesome
band #2 on my list, thank you very much!
so since its say anything its kinda obvious their cd's cool.......................haha
grows on you.
as a huge fan of ...is a real boy, it took me a few days to appreciate the new album but once i did, i couldn't stop listening. i absolutely love the lyrics and max's voice is amazing.
this band is god damn amazing
first of all whoever wrote this :
"...is a real boy was phenomenal, no doubt. it was raw, fresh, and bold in it's style and approach. but then say anything took everything that made them so brilliant and threw it out the 25th story of some corporate high rise and adopted the 'pop sensibility' required to get air time on MTV. while no one expects a sophomore album to live up to it's predecessor, one hopes that it won't crash and burn as badly as 'in defense of the genre'. borrowing pathetically from bands such as 'panic! at the disco' this album falls flat on it's face"
is a complete and UTTER moron.
'nough said.
second of all, this album is completely different then anything iv'e heard in a while and its amazing period. the lyrics and the concepts of the actual music are brilliant.
why would you want to hear the same thing from a band that they JUST produced on "is a real boy" on this new album. get the concept of "new"? obviously not.
Spores and Goodbye Young Tutor, You've Now Outgrown Me are both amazing songs top 5 on the album hands down.
great job.. keep them coming boys<3
.....Real good band
.....A real good band. In the defence of singing THE BEST songs ever! And Bang you got them the songs are great! The music is great, and a you guys are great! I love you people. Gosh, I love you guys heaps! Go on world tour&come to Western Australia, Perth, Australia, So I can see yous. I hope you do so i can see ya live.
The songs are addicting like addiction to what ever is addicting. I never get enough of them. All the songs are awesome. "BE MY BOYFRIENDS NOW"Lol! Max,Coby,Alexs, jake, jeff&Parker. Keep it up&again. LOVE YOUS!!!!

It will grow on you, I swear!
...is a Real boy was a breath of fresh air musically, lyrically, and philosophically. In Defense of the Genre isn't better or worse, just different. I think everyone just has to appreciate the progression of the band, whether they like it or not. Give it time and you won't be able to take it off 'repeat'. After all, it's their music anyway. Us listeners are just along for the ride.
...was a real band
...is a real boy was phenomenal, no doubt. it was raw, fresh, and bold in it's style and approach. but then say anything took everything that made them so brilliant and threw it out the 25th story of some corporate high rise and adopted the 'pop sensibility' required to get air time on MTV. while no one expects a sophomore album to live up to it's predecessor, one hopes that it won't crash and burn as badly as 'in defense of the genre'. borrowing pathetically from bands such as 'panic! at the disco' this album falls flat on it's face.
i've listened to it many times, looking for a shred of something promising, and it's not there. save yourself the money and sit this one out.
Joygasm
The first time I put this album in and listened to it cover to cover I thought to myself "This kinda isnt nearly as good as ...Is/Was A Real Boy," and just as I had with the previous album listened to about four songs that liked a lot and then the songs after them would come on and I'd start to love those as much as the others. A week goes by and I'm listening to the whole album and enjoying it all...
I recant my previous assumption because comparing the two albums wouldn't be fair. Each album has it's good points, and when i say good points I mean Fantastic points. They both kick a lot of ass but like different kinds of ass.
Rariety
Wow guys! This is one of those rare albums you can sit down and just listen to the whole thing from cover to cover and never get tired of a song.
It's an accomplishment indeed when you get more than just one of your songs(and more than one of your cd's)completely lodged into my brain.
I find myself singing these songs(and all the others)all the time while I'm at work, and my friends quickly discovered that I haven't changed the cd in my truck since the new album came out unless it was to put one of the old ones in.
You guys are definitely MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME, and I can not wait until you guys come back to Dallas.
p.s.-The show was amazing, thanks so much guys.
And good luck to all of you.
Rough
Don' t get me wrong, I love the album but it wasn't what I thought it would be. Think of it like this Is a Real Boy is like angry sex to me. In Defense, correct me if I'm wrong is a like bit more like sympathy sex. I mean i know you guys would change and wouldn't sound exactly the same. That would be even worse but let's just say I like it rough...
I love it
I can't listen to it enough, it's amazing. My favorite.
Amazing.
This album has blown my mind.
I love it! and I love you guys!
I love how original sounding you are and I love how different this album is than the other ones.
I hate all the people that expect to hear the EXACT same thing as the last album.
If you want to hear the same exact thing, keep listening to the same album.
I love this and this just further proves how amazing you are.

You already know how much talent you all have so there's really no need for me to repeat that, but I appreciate you guys sharing your talent with me!

A_Two.
appreciating it more everytime i listen to it.
It's a bit hard to get into for me. There are some songs that take me in the like the ...is a real boy album did. i like that it tried different things. the intro wasn't nearly as good as ...is a real boy. it's very hard for me not to compare the two albums. i hope that the more i listen to it the more it'll captivate me. but honestly, some of this stuff must be a joke.
loved the lyric link to notorious B.I.G.'s juicy lyrics. awesome.
what i have gotten into, is brilliant, as always.
um.....baseball?
Ok...I'd probably die if they quit singing and went back to baseball....their music is absolutely amazing!! I love this album. It's quite different from ....Is a Real Boy but I would dare say its better just because I'm a sucker for good vocals and love songs...plz to not go back to baseball....

That's only your opinion....so's your face
most amazing thing I have ever heard
I cant get enough of it. I listen to it 24/7. Sometimes listening to the album makes me want to cry because I love it so fucking much.
Amazing
i love the new cd...all the songs are really good and the instrumentals are awesome as well...i haven't stopped listening to it since i bought it
New album = so-so
Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy the new album. I would be lieing if I said I like it more than "...Is A Real Boy" though.
There's a handful of songs I absolutely love, and a handful of songs I strongly dislike (hate's too strong of a word.)
I think there's a rawness it's lacking that past albums have had. I also wish the song topics were as diverse as the sound ( I like a good love song, but too many make me feel ill.)
I do understand that bands change and their styles evolve...I just love their old sound, and hope they don't change too much.
That being said, Max is still a lyrical genius, and the album is definitely still worth buying.
The songs that are good, are very good..
Greatest and Most Innovative Band Ever
They just have knack for coming up with good songs. Each song has its own identity. This album is in know way shape or form boring like other albums i own.
Love The Album!!!!
The new album is great i love pretty much all of it Max Bemis is a great song writer and one of my favorite lead singers its not as good as the old albums i dont think but it still rocks SAY ANYTHING rocks!!!! and they deserve to be on mtv say anything rules!!!!!!!!!!!
REAL QUICK.
Sorry, but Say Anything is not trying to head to an MTV sound shut the hell up haha.
It doesn't matter if they are on MTV or not. They are doing what every other band is doing and trying to share their music with the world. They deserve everything good they get and ten times more. They are amazing. STRICTLY. Amazing.
Max you are fucking brilliant.
And this album is more about what's behind it, not in it.
There is a story behind them .. you just have to find it. Focus on the sounds individually and then the words ... Then putting it all together makes it all even better than the older cd's .. even though those are amazing too .. no one should ever be deprived of this band.
My best friend and I lay down and listen to it every single day.

You Can Do Better!
Ok, Well, The New Album Wasent Half as great as any Of the Previous Albums, Max bemis Is a Very Talented song writer and hes very Cute (: But The Whole band needs To Know they dont need the MTV Fame....Because thats Where they are trying to head to. They Have Us Their Beloved Fans. I mean their First couple albums were FABULOUS! but, the New one Ruiend the Fabulous streak....Still The Best Band In The World......They Dont want to ruin it....We Love You<33
The truth is...
I am pleasantly impressed with this album. It's a great follow-up to ...Is A Real Boy, absolutely not a let-down. Max's voice has also improved, not to say that his voice was bad in the first place, but it has matured and sounds even better than before (and just as sexy, if i may add). The songs are incredibly catchy and the variety is great! The harmonies are great, the guest vocalists all added something different to each song which makes each song unique. The transition of songs is really good as well. However, I must admit, there are some songs I can live without but they are few... The lyrics are utterly honest and wonderfully written. I must say, I completely admire Max's willingness to spill his innermost thoughts.
To be honest, I was quite apprehensive as to how the album would turn out; So many of my favorite bands attempt to experiment with their sounds and for the most part, I am utterly disappointed. Say Anything is not one of those bands. Their experimented sounds are great and their ability to work it makes them that much better. Trying out new sounds is difficult but they very well accomplished it.
Hats off to the Say Anything boys. They did a wonderful job, I could not have asked for a better two-disc extravaganza of an album
And just as a side note: This album kind of reminds me of a musical but better and not as annoying.
Say WHAT? Bemis is a Golden God.
It took several play-throughs (6 or 7) before I could really start to get a feel for this album. It is nothing that I could have ever expected, being quite diffirent from other albums. Its still going to take a while to pick up on all the lyrics and get some meaning out this glorious double disc bonanza. I gotta train diligently for Max and band come visit Pittsburgh at Moon's Robert Morris this Saturday. I am so glad I got to see them live in Cleveland at House of Blues. Highlights for this album include Disc 1 and Disc 2. Specifically speaking my picks would be That is Why, Died a Jew, the title track, The Word You Wield, and People Like You..
See ya in Pittsburgh!

amazing
absolutely amazing album, yes it my be different from all the other albums.. but thats what is so insane about it.. its genius!!
I Love It.
I absolutely love this album.
I'm not going to compare it to the older albums, because it's different.
Fair enough, with the amount of songs that are on the new album, you would always run the risk that some may not be as qualitative as they could be.
But i think they're all great!!
I'm really looking forward to seeing some of them played live.
