I'm a fan (and you should be too) because... Max Bemis (Say Anything) is restoring rock music to it's former glory by restoring the things that once made it great and renouncing that which has given it it's decadent form we know today. SA is kick in the balls to the processed uninspiring (and uninspired) music scene we live in today. True rock music is not JUST about anger or singing along to catchy music (where music has gone wrong today) but rather it's primary focus is 3 goals. First and foremost it is meant to stir the sentiment within us all to recognize feelings within ourselves and others (thus giving us insight into what others may think/feel making us more well rounded individuals). Second, appeal to our reason in such a way so that we may recognize things that are going on around us in a socio-political way and finally to express ourselves spiritually and emotionally (NOT EMO) but rather an outlet for our spirit and feeling. This is another point that music has gotten wrong, music is not about one emotion, but all emotions. Max and Say Anything embrace all three of the correct aims of rock music ALONG with fufilling the shallow pursuit of catchiness.
