Max has released his second album as Max Bemis and the Painful Splits. Contained within the 10 tracks, which are all Max quality, is a little treasure titled Stand Inside Your Love. This song was origionally released in 2000 on the Machina album by the Smashing Pumpkins. Since then this song has been close to my heart and when I saw it on the track listing for Painful Splits II, I became more than a bit skeptical as to whether it would live up to the original or fall miserably into the mounding pile of failed SP covers. I'm pleased to say that, although it's hard to beat Billy Corgan's signature vocals, Max Bemis makes it his own. With his drawn out, powerful, emotionally charged voice backed by a beautifully soft acoustic melody, this is a version I think we can all be proud of. Thanks Max. Amazing.
