I got my song today and i was really impressed. Shits awsome.

i heard about this about a month ago and thought it was an amazing idea.
but seriously. one hundred and fifty dollars?!
who in the hell has that kind of money? i'm a poor college student. why should some rich kid be able to get something that i would like just as much just because they have the money to spare?

I would like to say that I hope this money DOES go into their pockets. More precisely, if Mr. Bemis is personally writing and recording the songs himself without the help of the band I hope it is going into his pocket. If he shares it with his bandmates regardless that's even cooler.

I can't really understand why you would label a man as a sell out for something like this. Sure it costs money, and quite a pretty penny. But he's writing the song for a single person to do what they want with it. He's not putting it on an album to sell, and I doubt he's going to be playing it at shows. So for him to ask for some money to stop and write a song that's really not benefiting him in any other way, besides making a fans dream, is hardly a sell out move.

I personally think its quite cool, for lack of better word, of the guy. I think Max is an awesome song writer and the idea of him writing songs specifically for people makes him that much more awesome.

Even in the event that they are upset that the digital age is pirating their music and he had to brainstorm to come up with an idea to still make money off of songs (which I am pretty sure is actually what he said in the little video), I again see nothing wrong with that. It's a good idea and part of being in the music business is trying to make money. Would you prefer to work hard on something for your boss to end up getting short changed on your paycheck? That would suck. He didn't condemn anyone for downloading there stuff, and you're in no way obligated to by a personalized song...so...more power to him.

Max your awesome, keep it up.

In a way this whole thing is sort of a sell out move, as if the horrendous amount of guest appearances on the new album wasn't enough. Say Anything is upset that fans are downloading their music instead of purchasing it. So they had to brainstorm a new creative way of having fans spending an absurd amount of money. How very Metallica of them.

Whatever, I love the band regardless. I'm sure they make a reasonable amount of money off of shows and other merch...I guess that just isn't enough. Can't completely blame them. I think at a certain point, it's just all about the money. If they're not at that point yet, they're very close.

I can't tell you enough how truly grateful I am to you for bringing music back to its true purpose:pleasing the fans.

Music is all about life, and connections between total strangers, and emotions so strong that you can't help but put them into song.

Even though its a wonderful thing, its quite EXPENSIVE!!!! Ever thought about making one month less expensive? Or maybe a limited offer?!?!?!

i just got my song from max. simply put, it is more than i could have hope for. he reached every aspect i was looking for. definitely worth it, and so much more.

Listen Max, since I don't want you to somehow get screwed out of the best idea I have ever heard, you should definitely take the time to get in touch with your lawyer or manager, about getting a patent for that. Seriously that's the sort of thing that makes you rich.
Second, I'm currently an aspiring writer, I don't know if you'll read these or not, but some time we should definitely get some back and forth going about turning one of my stories into a song. I think there would be potential in that for me and you. Then again you probably want everything you take full credit for, to be entirely made by you, that's the way i am.

Anyways hope you read this and take some sort of protective action on that idea.

I got my song last night and I absolutely love it.
This is really something different and something special that most other musicians couldn't pull off. And even if they could, I'd safely bet that most wouldn't want to.

I can't believe I missed this! This idea is freakin ingenious.
I really can't wait till Max does this again.
Once again, Max Bemis and Say Anything never fail to raise the bar.
